About Eridian Solutions

Hi, I'm Ben. I build calm software for messy business problems.

Eridian Solutions is my way of bringing together software design, electronics, automation, systems engineering, and a very practical dislike of cluttered workflows.

Eridian Solutions was founded by me, Ben Jones. I am a software designer, electronics specialist, and early adopter of AI-assisted software development, focused on building practical systems for real businesses.

Before starting Eridian Solutions, my background was built around systems in the most literal sense. I served in the military as a Systems Engineering Technician, then moved into civilian life as a marine technician, communications systems engineer, and software developer.

That mix of experience has shaped how I think. I like understanding how things connect, where information gets lost, what causes friction, and which parts of a process can quietly be made easier.

Software should reduce stress, simplify decisions, and help people focus on what actually matters. That is the basic idea behind Eridian Solutions.

My approach to software design is also heavily influenced by living with ADHD and Low Latent Inhibition. Chaotic, cluttered systems can feel overwhelming, but those same traits also encourage unusual levels of pattern recognition, creative problem solving, and systems thinking.

In practice, that means I pay close attention to the things that make software tiring: too many menus, too many clicks, unclear priorities, noisy dashboards, repeated data entry, and systems that expect people to remember what the software should be helping them manage.

Eridian Solutions takes the opposite approach: clean interfaces, logical workflows, calming visual design, large clear controls, and automation where it genuinely helps.

The aim is not just to make software that works, but software that feels easier to work with.

The Path Here

From technical systems to human-centred software

A lot of Eridian's design philosophy comes from working close to real equipment, real constraints, and real people who simply need systems to work clearly and reliably.

Military Systems Engineering Technician

Built a foundation in disciplined technical thinking, fault finding, system reliability, and working with equipment where clarity matters.

Marine Technician

Worked with practical technical systems in demanding environments, where good diagnostics and dependable processes make a real difference.

Communications Systems Engineer

Developed experience with connected systems, specialist equipment, technical integration, and the importance of information moving cleanly from one place to another.

Software Developer

Combined that engineering background with AI-assisted programming workflows to create bespoke software, including systems used in high-level construction and government-linked installations.

Why Eridian?

The company name is inspired by Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, one of my favourite novels because of its focus on engineering, unconventional thinking, and solving difficult problems through creativity and adaptability.

That same mindset influences how I approach software design and systems integration today. Every project starts with the same question: what would make this genuinely easier for the people using it?

Simple where possible. Powerful where necessary.

Tell Me What's Messy

Got a workflow that needs calming down?

If your business is fighting spreadsheets, disconnected tools, repeated admin, or software that gets in the way, Eridian Solutions can help turn that complexity into something clearer.
